Fostering Change Early Learning Center is a private, not-for-profit educational 501(c)(3) organization working in partnership with Fostering Change Foster Closet. We operate on a non-discriminatory basis, according equal treatment, and access to services without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, or income. Fostering Change Foster Closet is an established volunteer-run program which receives donations of children’s clothing and essential items and provides them at no charge to foster children, children in need and the families who are supporting them.
Fostering Change Early Learning Center’s mission is to provide an environment that is stimulating, nurturing and supportive to young children, where children can discover that they are important and where learning can be fun. The school’s philosophy is to recognize and develop the uniqueness’ of each child, and to create an initial school experience where children can comfortably and freely explore their environment to encourage development and learning in ways that are natural for every child. Our goal is to help students flourish while developing a positive self-concept, preparing them for all future learning programs and successful matriculation. Fostering Change Early Learning Center seeks for its students to become self-sufficient learners, independent thinkers, and well-rounded observers who are empowered to adapt to unique and challenging environments with confidence.
We are currently in the early planning stages of Fostering Change Early Learning Center and are reaching out to individuals, private businesses and corporations throughout the Tampa Bay Area who are interested in helping us establish this facility. Fostering Change Early Learning Center is the first of its kind in the Tampa Bay area aimed specifically at helping foster children and those in need within the community.
This is a monumental long-term endeavor with a lofty financial investment required. We have secured the land needed for the initial project; we are in first stages of architectural planning for building the facility. Project resources will rely solely on donations from the community, both periodic as well as continued support from benefactors willing to make a substantial commitment with us to the future of children in need.

Infants are active learners from birth who are engaged by our teachers through warm, nurturing, supportive interactions. In our classrooms, even the youngest of children make active choices and decisions, choosing which objects to play with, responding to events in their surroundings, and figuring out how to communicate their feelings and ideas – first by sounds, gestures, and facial expressions, and later through language – to parents and family members, caregivers, and eventually peers.
AGE: 1-2 years
Fostering Change Early Learning Center fosters active learning amongst our toddlers by encouraging exploration across an array of materials and sensory activities. Our little ones select and manipulate materials that interest them and then make choices about how to interact with their surroundings. They move their heads, wave their arms and legs, and engage in ways meaningful to them. Infants and toddlers play at their own pace and initiate their own discoveries. All the while, our teachers make it their job to understand and support toddlers’ sensory, whole-body approach to learning. They respect and accommodate each child’s ongoing need for space, materials, and exploration time.

Our Preschool program continues to use methods that promote independence, curiosity, decision making, creativity, and problem-solving, yet extends on previous knowledge and experience by taking everything to the next level. Children in this age group are experimenting more, building new relationships, testing their boundaries, and looking for new challenges. Simply put, they’re growing up! Preschoolers at Fostering Change Early Learning Center enjoy a playful learning experience that pushes them continually move forward and to step beyond learning the basics of simple letters and numbers; it challenges them to blend those letters into words and to combine or break apart those numbers into larger and smaller sets through addition and subtraction. We take pride in this preschool experience and believes it is cornerstone to future success in kindergarten and beyond.

Outside of the normal school day, We also offer before and after care services for local elementary students. Parents are free to go to work at ease and enjoy the convenience of extended care, knowing their children are in good hands. In the mornings, those participating in our before-care program have an opportunity to sort their thoughts, review their homework, and go through whatever tasks necessary to prepare for the day ahead. Our staff then transports these students to their respective elementary schools for their daily classroom instruction.
In the afternoons, those participating in our after-care program will get picked up upon dismissal at their respective elementary schools and brought to The Fostering Change Early Learning Center for the remainder of the afternoon. Once here, they will be invited to participate in our homework club, engage in targeted school-age projects and activities, and let off some steam on our playground and basketball court during organized games.
